I haven't done one of these for a while and thought I should exercise my compositing chops this weekend. The background image is a piece of stock photography (licensed and paid for) and the fashion image is one I shot this weekend with model Karie Holst and MUAH Elena Ismail.
I really liked the combination of the alternative, punkish wardrobe and styling with the very decayed, grunge environment so I 'married' them in Photoshop. The composite took about 30 minutes with most of the time spent masking Karie's hair. To finish it off, I toned the image using a series of formulas I've developed for myself and balanced the colours so that they appear to be the same values in saturation, contrast, etc... I really like the results for such a quick composite, but I'll let you decide ;)
